SUMMARY:Neuro-inclusive Library Study Club
DESCRIPTION:If you struggle with distractions and procrastination\, then
our Neuro-inclusive Library Study Club is for you. The session will be
structured around timed study periods and breaks. Here you can body-double
with peers to help you read\, write or revise more productively. You can
also share your study goals to help with accountability\, and make social
connections if you like. The study club has been shaped by feedback from
neuro-diverse students\, and will be facilitated by library staff. \n\nSIGN
UP USING THE KING'S EDGE PLATFORM!\n\nLink:
 edge.kcl.ac.uk/events/neuro-inclusive-library-study-club-1\n\nHow Does
Study Club Work?\n\nWelcomes (10 minutes)\n\n\n	The facilitator will
welcome participants into the room and explain how the session will
work.\n	The facilitator will share what their own study goals are for the
session\n	Participants will be offered the space to share their goals
verbally or on post-its\, for anyone who finds it helpful to have external
accountability. (You can also choose to keep your study goals to yourself.
Whatever works best for you.)\n\n\nStudy (45 minutes)\n\n\n	We will then
 study for 45 minutes.\n	Study can be writing\, editing\, revising\,
reading.\n	We will keep distractions to a minimum by working in silence and
remaining seated as much as possible.\n	If you want to listen to music on
your headphones\, ensure they are set at a low volume so you don't distract
 others.\n\n\nBreak (15 minutes)\n\n\n	We will then take a 15 minute
break\n	This is a chance to move around\, leave the room\, get a coffee or
tea (provided by us) etc.\n	You can chat or not chat\; participants will
wear interaction badges to make their preferences clear to each
other.\n\n\nStudy (45 minutes)\n\n\n	We will then study for another 45
minutes.\n\n\nWrap up (15 minutes)\n\n\n	The facilitator will then wrap up
the session by sharing how they got on\, offering others space to do the
same\, or not as they choose.\n\n\nThe room will be available after the
session should you wish to stay and study longer.\n\nFrequently Asked
Questions\n\nClick on the FAQs below\, or contact the organiser if you have
additional questions.\n\n\n\n\n\nIs Study Club open to all
students?\n\n\n\nOf course! These Study Clubs are designed to be
neuro-inclusive\, and can benefit all levels of study e.g. undergraduate
and postgraduate.\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I have to talk or present?\n\n\n\nWe have
tried to create a space where different levels of interaction are possible
so if you don't feel like talking that's absolutely fine. We will use
interaction badges to make this clear to others.\n\n\n\n\n\nCan I work in a
group?\n\n\n\nFor this event we ask that you work individually\, although
you are welcome to bring a friend and interact during the break. We hope to
introduce small group sessions in future.\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat do I need to
bring?\n\n\n\nYou can bring a laptop\, device or notebook. Make sure your
devices are fully charged as plugging in may be a distraction. Laptops and
stationery are available for borrowing in the library. We will provide
tea\, coffee\, biscuits and water.\n\n\n\n\n\nDo I have to stay for the
entire session?\n\n\n\nIf one round of study is enough for you\, or if you
have somewhere to be that's fine. There are limited spaces so we would ask
that you are at least able to stay for the first hour.\n\n\n\n\n\nIs the
room wheelchair accessible?\n\n\n\nYes\, you can find a guide on AccessAble
here. We would advise arriving a little early if you haven't visited before
and so we can find the best space for you in the room. G.13 is just past
the entrance foyer\, an accessible toilet is along the same
corridor.\n\n\n\n\n\nI have other accessibility needs\, can you accommodate
them?\n\n\n\nWe aim to. Please email library@kcl.ac.uk if you have specific
 questions.\n\n\n
