NHS001: Rapid access to evidence-based resources In-Person

Course availability

Open to all. Places are limited and are on a first come, first served basis.

 

Target group

NHS staff who require guidance on accessing e-journal articles and ebooks as well as using evidence-based resources such as point-of-care tools, reviews, guidelines and summaries.

 

Overall aim

The aim of this workshop is to explore some key resources for finding reliable evidence to support your work in providing high quality patient care and decision-making.

key areas covered in the workshop will include:

  • Identifying key healthcare resources and their content
  • Effective use of search techniques e.g. phrase searching
  • Exploring specific resources, such as NHS Knowledge & Library Hub. TRIP PRO, and BMJ Best Practice

 

Preparatory task

An OpenAthens login will be necessary for hands-on element. To register for an account go to: https://libguides.kcl.ac.uk/NHS/OpenAthens 

We recommend registering at least two days prior to the workshop.

 

Delivery

This session will be delivered using Microsoft Teams for online teaching, which you can access either through the web or via a downloadable app: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/microsoft-teams/group-chat-software

You will be sent an invitation containing the link to the specific Teams meeting 24 hours prior to the meeting. If you register for the workshop after this time you will receive an invitation up to two hours before the workshop begins.
