Health Literacy Awareness - King's College Hospital staff (ONLINE)

Health Literacy Awareness - King's College Hospital staff (ONLINE) In-Person

Health literacy empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health, leading to better treatment outcomes and reduced health disparities.

Did you know?
Nearly 7 out of 10 people in Lambeth and 5 out of 10 people in Bromley have low health literacy and numeracy¹. This means that they will struggle to understand basic health information.

What can we do?
Effective communication is essential to ensure that patients understand their conditions and treatment enhancing patient-centred care and shared decision making.

Sign up to one of our health literacy workshops to find out:

    • what is health literacy and why does it matter

    • the impact of poor health literacy on patients and the link to health inequalities

    • tools and techniques that can support patients with low health literacy
